Skiing in Ždiar: three resorts, one ski pass
Three ski resorts are within easy reach in Ždiar: Strachan, Strednica and Bachledka. The closest are Strachan ski centre, around 550 m away, and Ski Strednica, 1.7 km or about 3 minutes by car. Each offers different terrain. Before setting out, check opening arrangements, snow conditions and ski passes with the resort you plan to visit.

Strachan ski centre
A family ski resort right in the village, with a four-person chairlift, two drag lifts and 3.7 km of pistes with a vertical drop of 172 m, groomed daily and equipped with snowmaking. There is a ski kindergarten and school, equipment hire and the Medvedí brloh restaurant at the foot of the slope.

Ski Strednica
On the hill above the upper end of the village: a 550 m four-person chairlift, six drag lifts and 3.5 km of gentle pistes with a vertical drop of 120 m, suited to beginners and children. There is a ski school, equipment hire and a slopeside restaurant overlooking Havran and Ždiarska vidla.

Bachledka Ski & Sun
The largest ski resort in the area sits on the Spišská Magura ridge, with pistes into three valleys and access from Ždiar, Jezersko and Malá Franková. It has a gondola, chairlifts, a snowpark, a children’s area and a treetop walk that also opens in winter.

Tatry Super Ski and current ski passes
Tatry Super Ski brings together several resorts on the Slovak and Polish sides of the Tatras. Pass coverage and prices vary by season, so check the official website for current details. For a larger ski area, Tatranská Lomnica is around 21 minutes away by car and Štrbské Pleso around 45 minutes.
Cross-country skiing, sledging and evening relaxation
There are also cross-country trails and places to go sledging nearby. Trails and winter attractions depend on snow and weather, so check current conditions before setting out. For children who are not yet skiing, the Ždiarsky dom Museum or activities at Bachledka may be a good choice, depending on the season.
After skiing, unwind in the whirlpool pool, cold plunge pool and saunas; spa access is included in your stay. Ask about ski storage and current arrangements when booking. Buy ski passes at the resorts or online, following their instructions.
