Family holidays are even better with plenty of choice. Ždiar and the surrounding area offer adventures for children of all ages, from playgrounds and family attractions to places that make a rainy day just as enjoyable.
We have selected ideas you can adapt to your children’s ages, the season and the weather. Before visiting, check current opening hours and prices for each attraction.
The operator states that the gondola and walkway are accessible without steps; check suitability for your particular pushchair. Children will enjoy the 67 m slide from the tower and the Kingdom of the Forest nature playground by the upper station.

A small museum in a timber house where children and adults can dress in Goral costume for a photo. The tour takes half an hour, with another half-hour for trying on the costumes.

A family park by Strachan ski centre, with a Goral farm where children can feed the animals, fairytale tree houses, climbing courses, a bouncy castle, nine-hole mini golf and a fire pit. In summer, there are theatre shows and activities led by entertainers.

A high ropes course directly below the cave, with 17 obstacles at heights of 6–8 m and four zip lines. The shorter Mini Spider course is for younger children. Children under 15 are accompanied by an adult or instructor, and each receives a harness and helmet. Combine it with a cave tour.

Seventy minutes underground at 5 °C, with 874 steps and pools catching the falling drops. A good option from age four; be prepared to carry younger children. Bring a jacket and sturdy shoes, even in July.

Take the funicular from Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok, then follow the marked trail to the waterfalls. On a rainy day, try Tricklandia if it is open.

AquaCity Poprad offers thermal pools, water slides and a children’s area. Check current opening hours, prices and conditions for children before setting out.
Families are welcome at Wellness Resort Kamzík***. Children can enjoy the playground with its sandpit and trampoline, a play corner and children’s menu in the restaurant, and spa visits when accompanied by an adult.
For more family space, choose Kamzík Apartments*** or Villa Kamzík***, which has a shared lounge with a fireplace.
We are also planning a new outdoor children’s area with climbing frames, swings and educational play equipment.
